The Venue to host comedy show

Brad Muise and local host Brett Forte will be at the Venue Bar and Grill on Jan. 9 for another fantastic comedy show all a part of the Venue’s ‘Laugh Out Loud’ Comedy Night.

Muise, is originally from Cape Breton, NS., but has since moved to Calgary and made that his home. His comedy has been described as a delicate balance of clean, cleverly written jokes with just enough naughtiness to get some really big laughs.

Whether he’s talking about his marriage and family, himself, or the world around him, Muise’s slants on things will make you laugh out loud. He has become one of the top headliners touring and performing corporate comedy throughout Canada. Muise also has previously written and performed for both CBC TV’s Halifax and Winnipeg Comedy Festivals, and CBC Radio One’s comedy called “The Debaters”. Muise has also performed in the Alberta Comedy Spectacular: Best of the West, which aired in 2010 … the Cape Breton native has truly found his place in Canadian show business.

Muise has also acted in the Comedy Club, which came out in 2000 … as he was portrayed as a comedy student. Others who took part in the film were Brent Butt, Enid-Raye Adams and Peter Kelamis as the movie is about a man creating an alter ego to help him quit his day job and become a stand-up comedian.

The host of the show, Brett Forte was born in 1992, but he says he feels like he should have been born in the 1980s. For Forte, the frustration and embarrassment that he has of his generation led to his comedy. If something rubs him the wrong way, you’ll be sure to get a laugh out of it. The local comedian, who was born in Calgary, has already been awarded as ‘Calgary’s Top New Comic’ and ‘Edmonton’s Funniest Person’ in just two years. Forte has also been the winner of the Yuk and Comers Amateur Comedy Competition at Yuk Yuk’s in Calgary. He has performed at the YYC Comedy Festival as well as hosting shows at the Venue in November and October.

Doors will open at 7, with the show going from 8 until 10. Tickets are $15.00 per person and are available at or
