About Us

The Cochrane Eagle is an independent newspaper based in the rapidly growing community of Cochrane, Alta., located approximately 25 minutes west of Calgary, Alta., in the foothills of the majestic Rocky Mountains.

Since 2001, the Eagle has covered the town of Cochrane. We reach the rural areas west of Calgary from Bragg Creek in the south, to Cremona in the north, and to the Stoney Nakoda First Nation in the west. The Eagle emphasizes strong photography and local content. The paper comes out every Wednesday, and we are currently distributing 12,240 newspapers through Distribution Technicians (carriers) within Cochrane, drops at numerous businesses, and through Canada Post.
