Judge John Reilly

Semi-retired Judge John Reilly said he has been served with a notice of libel through Stoney Nakoda Nation’s Chief David Bearspaw’s lawyer Jeffrey Rath about comments made about the chief in his book entitled Bad Medicine: A Judge’s Struggle for Justice in a First Nations Community.

Bearspaw Elder Grace Daniels will be speaking at an event entitled The Eagle’s Homecoming at Java Jamboree Feb. 26 at 6 p.m.

She will be speaking about her connection to eagles in regards to a wildlife raid on Stoney Nakoda Nation that saw some of her wildlife artifacts seized.

Volunteers were called upon to open a reception centre for stranded travellers at the Cochrane RancheHouse Feb. 15.

Although it was only part of an exercise to test the town’s Disaster Social Services (DSS) plan, the mock disaster served as training for a variety of local services.

Rocky View unveils potential water strategy

Cochrane couple wait for daughter’s return from overseas hospitalization

While Cochrane’s Christine Condy is now off her respirator, eating solid foods and looking foward to walking around, Marilyn and Cevyn Linnard are still waiting to see when their daughter will be flown back to Canada after falling ill on her honeymoon.

Mike and Ruthy head north for Home Routes

It looks like 10 years of harmonizing together has paid off for folk duo Mike and Ruthy.
