Wee Jackie Weighs In

Set aside Oct. 1 and don’t let anything interfere.

That’s the night of a great opportunity for a super entertaining evening for a great cause.
Paul Brandt will be performing at the Bragg Creek Community Centre as a fundraiser for the Cochrane and District Community Foundation.

This guy is a world-class performer and he lives not far from this wee village on the Bow, so that makes it special.

It’s also special because the guy performs all over the world but quickly agreed to help a local cause.

The Cochrane Foundation is a group of folks who administer a fund started by the late Neil Harvie. It takes the interest from investments and disperses it to groups in Cochrane and the district.

I have a vested interest in that I’ve served as a director for a few years but it always impresses me how these folks put community first. Everytime.

And this Paul Brandt show will not only be great entertainment but will raise dollars to help area organizations.

You can get tickets at ATB Financial Cochrane, cochranefoundation.com and Rodeo Drive in Bragg Creek. See you there.

Sorry about that

And now the toughest challenge for a journalist.

An apology.

Last week I wrote how nobody from the town showed up at the Cochrane Pride nights at the chuckwagon races during the Calgary Stampede. Wrong.

Coun. Ivan Davies was there.

Sorry about that Coun. Davies.

Golfing for funds

Speaking of golf, aren’t we always?

Set aside Sept. 13 at Redwood Meadows for the first fundraiser for the Nakoda food bank at Morley.

It’s a noon start, so call Lisa at 403-881-2603. It’s only $700 a foursome.
