Toni Vere

Folk artist, Toni Vere, will be at the Cochrane Legion May 8 to help raise funds to send the Cochrane Men of Vision Pipes and Drums to band school in Scotland.

The group also plans to take in the sights and sounds of both the World Piping Championships and the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

Vere will be gracing the stage with her hearty voice, rhythmic guitar playing and harmonica riffs from 8:30 p.m. until midnight.

It’s not all the way folk, downright country or straight-up blues — it’s a tasty mix of all the above, and Vere pulls it off with a set list that’ll hold any room, making the audience smile all the while.

Originally from Lethbridge, Vere considers herself a songwriter before a guitar player and a vocalist. Vere not only has a strong focus on songwriting, but also an enormous energy on stage.

Folk artist Toni Vere will play at the Cochrane Legion on May 8.

Fresh out of the studio, Vere is quickly climbing charts throughout North America and is expanding into overseas markets with her debut CD entitled Just To Be.

The event, called a Taste of Scotland, is also great for those craving good old-fashioned haggis, Scottish meat pies and Scotch of course. The Men of Vision also plan to take the stage before Vere.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and dinner will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Neon Cactus Wines or the Cochrane Legion.
