The morning of April 25 began bright and early, with Bow Valley High School and the Cochrane Blues hosting the Cochrane Rugby Festival.

If you hear a knock on your front door, it might just be local singer Monica Munro, looking to give you a listen of her new CD Down To The River.

Munro has been travelling Cochrane door-to-door hoping to expose residents to her music and sell a few CDs along the way.

Surf rock coming to Water Valley

A brand of raw, instrumental surf rock is coming to the Water Valley Saloon April 30 — a different sound for a “country bar,” but one that local group Enzo and the Ferraris think will go down well.

“If you’re in a country bar, they expect you to play country, if you’re in a blues bar they expect you to play blues,” said lead guitarist Enzo Ribaric.

New Fireside community approved
