Stolen identity used to buy $40k truck

A Calgary woman has landed herself over 17 charges after allegedly trying to steal a $40,000 truck using a stolen identity.

On Nov. 5, Paige Archibald, 26, tried to buy the vehicle at Cochrane Dodge, producing a fake driver’s license and social security number.

As the dealership was checking her credit they were contacted by a woman of the same name saying that her identification had been stolen.

Police arrested Archibald the next day when she returned to pick  up the truck.

Police  also found manufactured credit cards with other people’s  names on them, in Archibald’s possession.

The 17 charges include three counts of personation, two counts of fraud, five counts of uttering forged documents, three counts of possessing fraudulent credit cards, one count of possessing property obtained by crimes, and three counts of possessing counterfeit identification.
