Dinner theatre hopes to raise library funds
The Nan Boothby Public Library has enlisted the help of another community group to raise funds.
The Vision Theatre group has agreed to host a dessert murder mystery event and donate most of the proceeds to the general operating revenue of the lending institution.
“The whole play is in the form of a wake,” said library board member Carol Byler. “So the whole audience will be involved and feel a part of it.”
The play, To Wake the Dead, will take place at the Cochrane RancheHouse on Oct. 17 at 6:30 p.m.
As well as dessert, there will also be a silent auction, said Byler.
“Lots of local businesses have been so generous. We’d like to make this an annual event.”
Vision Theatre thespians are also rehearsing for an upcoming pantomime Knight Fever — An Arthurian Pantomime set to take place at the end of November.
Tickets for the murder mystery are $35 and are available at the library or online at www.cochranevisiontheatre.ca. Only 100 tickets will be sold.
“We’re not sure yet how we’ll spend the money,” said Byler.
