Skaters snare 44 medals

The Cochrane Skating Club brought home 44 medals from the Chinook Open Competition in Lethbridge April 8-10, one more than their record of last year.
This competition includes skaters from all over Western Canada from pre-preliminary to gold level skaters.
The club won eight gold, 19 silver and 17 bronze medals.
Carolyn Kolb won a record six medals, Katie McCarthy five and Chelsey Kramps four medals.
Gold medals were also won by: Richelle Atkin, spin spiral jump; Carlee Edge, pre-intro interpretive and senior bronze spins; Alison Fyfe, spin spiral jump; Kendall Holdaway and McCarthy, junior bronze shadow dance; Kolb, gold interpretive; Julie Pratt, spin spiral jump.
Silver medals were won by: Lydia Dedora; intro interpretive; Edge, Charlene Hatlen, Kramps and Kolb, gold team elements; Jessica Greschner, senior silver freeskate; Hatlen and Kolb, senior silver shadow dance; Holdaway, pre-preliminary elements; Kolb, silver spins; Kolb and Kramps, gold pairs; Pratt and Molly Tingley, pre-preliminary shadow dance; Alyssa Soloski, spin spiral jump; Emily Smith and Eily Stakenas, gold shadow dance; Lindsay Orchard and Whitney Wildeman, senior bronze shadow dance.
Bronze medals were won by: Dedora, Emily McKay, Wildeman and McCarthy, team elements; Hatlen, Kolb, Kramps and Orchard, 14 fours; Holdaway, pre-preliminary freeskate; Courtney Soloski, pre-preliminary freeskate; Kramps, senior silver elements; McKay, pre-intro interpretive; McCarthy, preliminary elements, preliminary freeskate and intro interpretive; Alyssa Soloski and Molly Tingley, intro pairs.
